Sibenik lies 35 km north of Rogoznica and with a population of ~40 000 it is the largest city in the Sibenik-Knin county. During the recent war the city was heavyly damaged from artillery and air attacks.

The main attraction of Sibenik is the Cathedral of St James. It was built between 1431-1536 and now fully restored after beeing damaged by shelling in 1991. It was declared an UNESO World Heritage Site in 2001.
